My work features the convergence of my backgrounds in
photography and psychology. I approach a photograph with the
intention of capturing a deeper meaning of a situation, or a
perspective not normally acknowledged by the naked eye. I choose
to demonstrate an almost voyeuristic view on the world,
capturing what is real in both the physical and metaphysical
planes.
Many of my projects are thematically focused, whether pertaining
to the events of my surrounding cultures, or pertaining to
exploration of a topic such as fear or love. I am greatly
inspired by my predecessors such as Alfred Eisenstaedt, Duane
Michaels, and Sally Mann, as well as all the fascinating
presenters at the various Society for Photographic Education
Conventions that I have attended.
